1^ST ANNUAL BARTENDER CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Arthritis Foundation and Jose Cuervo are excited to announce the start of a new tradition at the Margarita & Salsa Festival.  The first ever Bartender Championships!

The Perfect Margarita always starts with Jose Cuervo.
Does your recipe make the cut?

DATE:  Saturday, August 29th  
TIME:  Arrival time will be determined by the number of entries and will be given to you the week of August 17th.
PLACE: “Salsaritaville” – the Creative Arts Building at the Heart O’ Texas Fair Complex

ENTRIES & REGISTRATION:  Entry deadline is Monday, August 17^th
• Entries can come from any local bar, restaurant or individual
• A maximum of 5 entries per bar or restaurant
• Each entry costs $100
• Restaurants, bars and individuals will complete against each other
• Entry fee will cover cost of spirits and other ingredients used for the contest.
• Spirits, mixers, fruit juices, fresh fruits, glassware, salt rimmers, and cutting boards will be supplied
• Depending on the number of contestants, a maximum of 5 contestants could compete at the same time.  (This number will be determined by an Arthritis Foundation staff member)
• A drawing will be held prior to the start of the competition to determine which group a contestant will compete in.
• Each contestant will have a maximum of 10 minutes in which to prepare his/her recipe.
• Contestants will submit one margarita for judging (presentation) and submit tasting samples for each individual judge
• Contestants will be judged based on taste, creativity, entertainment and overall presentation.
• Only margaritas on the rocks are allowed. (no blenders)
• Restaurant employees are encouraged to wear their establishments shirt
• The final round of the contest with the final 2 contestants will be showcased on a small stage outside in the main concert area. 
• Final scores will be accumulated and will include crowd applause.

PRIZES: 1^st Place - $350    2^nd Place - $200
