The Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo presented by H-E-B is proud to announce that their national anthem singer – Emily Faith Wilson – was voted the winner for the large rodeo category in the Wrangler National Anthem Contest.
“I’m beyond thankful to the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo staff and all the fans who have supported me,” commented Emily. “God has given me this opportunity and I’m so blessed to be able to sing on the closing night of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.” This will be Emily’s first trip to the Las Vegas Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. She has been singing the anthem for the All American ProRodeo Finals for the last six years.
“We couldn’t be more proud to have Emily represent the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo in Las Vegas and show off her amazing ability,” stated Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo President/CEO Wes Allison.“ I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this opportunity than Miss Emily Faith Wilson.We wish her the best.”
The contest was open to individuals nominated by a rodeo who have performed the anthem at a PRCA-sanctioned rodeo within the last five years.Rodeos from across the country submitted their anthem singers for the contest which was narrowed down by a selection committee appointed by Las Vegas Events to 12 finalists (four finalists from
each rodeo size category: small, medium and large).Then it was left up to fans to go online and vote from October 15-30.
Thanks to Emily’s overwhelming fan support, she will sing the national anthem prior to the start of the closing Wrangler NFR performance. As part of the experience, she will receive roundtrip airfare for two to/from Las Vegas, hotel accommodations, a pair of tickets to the rodeo the night she is performing, and her name and photo will appear in
the official Wrangler NFR souvenir program.
If you have attended an All American ProRodeo Finals presented by Pendleton Whisky performance in the last few years you know Emily deserves this honor. We would like to thank the community for voting for her and getting her to the 2013 Wrangler NFR.
