The Extraco Events Center, Home of the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo, is the premier events facility in Central Texas and serves as host to more than 200 events annually. Established in 1953, the EEC now boasts an annual economic impact of more than $47 million and is vital to the local economy. The facility is managed by a 501C (3) Non-Profit Organization and governed by a 36 member Board of Directors with day to day operations run by an outstanding full time staff.
Celebrating 61 years in 2013, the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo is the largest event in Central Texas with an attendance in excess of 200,000. The Fair goes well beyond entertaining visitors each year by making a significant educational impact on the youth of Texas by giving more than $225,000 in scholarships annually. It also hosts the All American ProRodeo Finals with a purse of almost $500,000. Considered one of the Fall Major Livestock Shows in Texas, it is home to more than 4,000 entries each year. Over 500 volunteers dedicate countless hours and raise more than $450,000 annually in pre-sale tickets to ensure the continued success of the Fair & Rodeo. Total sponsorship sales will top $1.2 million in 2013.
The EEC and Fair is seeking to continue its growth and impact on youth and the community by hiring a Division Manager of Marketing and Public Relations. This position will lead all of the EEC and Fair’s efforts to create product branding, placement, promotion and advertising. The ideal candidate will take the Fair to the next level through creative communications with our current customers while researching and developing new audiences. This person will be able to establish relationships in the community and will work directly with the President and CEO to act as a spokesperson for the Company.
