2019 Texas A&M University Freshman Erin Steglich

Erin Steglich, a Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo Scholarship Fund recipient, is a freshman at Texas A&M University.

“With my first semester at Texas A&M University behind me, I begin to look forward to the new year ahead of me, I am reminded of the blessings I have been granted as a result of the generosity of organizations like the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo,” states Erin Steglich.

Throughout her first semester, Erin was able to pursue a variety of opportunities and experiences inside and outside the classroom. She was active in two organizations that allowed her to have an impact within the university while expanding her network of relationships across campus. As a selected member of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Student Council, she was able to play a role in the successful implementation of several new programs and events for students and community members in fundraising for scholarships and in making an impact on the community through service projects. Through MSC Aggie Leaders of Tomorrow, she learned personal leadership skills through a subcommittee focused on putting on a campus-wide event.

Erin says, “I have learned so much in one semester over topics that interest me and are valuable to my future career and I am proud to say that I ended the semester with a 4.0 grade point average. I cannot thank you enough for the part that your scholarship played in allowing me to pursue my dream of higher education and I greatly appreciate your support in my endeavors.”
