2019 MISS HEART O’ TEXAS FAIR & RODEO

Morgan Wray was crowned as the 2019 Miss Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo. Rebecca Heldenbrand was named first runner-up.

Morgan Wray is the daughter of Melissa Wray and Rick Bostwick and Krista and Michael Wray. She is currently a junior at Reicher Catholic High School where she is a member of the Varsity soccer and cross-country teams, National Honor Society, and Marketing Team. Outside of school, she volunteers for various political campaigns and associations and works as a counselor at Camp Longhorn. She is also involved in Symphony Belles.

In order to compete for Miss Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo, each contestant must have at least 100 hours of volunteer service in the community and a minimum of $500 sold in pre-sale Fair & Rodeo tickets as well as participate in an interview process with five judges and give a short speech to the judges and audience. In addition to being named the 2019 Miss Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo, Morgan Wray will receive a $1,000 scholarship along with other prizes. She will make appearances in parades, schools, rodeos and be the hostess of the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo scheduled for October 3-13.

The primary purpose of the Sweetheart Program is to promote, support and represent the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo year-round in the community.

The Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo Sweethearts help promote, support and represent the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo at various community events throughout the year including festivals, fundraisers, benefits and parades. In addition, they serve as public relations ambassadors for the Fair & Rodeo and volunteer a minimum of 100 hours of community service. Scholarship opportunities are also available!

Requirements:

  • You must be a Sophomore, Junior or Senior in high school for the 2019-2020 school year.
  • You must have an 85 or above cumulative grade average.
  • You must be a resident of Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Falls, Hill, Limestone or McLennan Counties.
  • You must be willing and physically able to serve as a volunteer for a minimum of 100 hours throughout the year of which 30 hours will be served during the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo October 4-13, 2019.
  • You must sell a minimum of $500 in tickets and/or sponsorship packages during the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo Pre-Sale Campaign.
